This is Tamiya's 1/35 JS-2, but I still insist that IS-2 is the correct term. Anyway, as with most Tamiya kits this kit was simple to assemble, I wish I had more PE to play with but there can always be a next time I guess. I came across old 1945 photos of these tanks in Berlin, this version appeared to be carrying a panzerfaust shield surrounding the turret, so I decided to scratch-build this onto the kit. I felt I did a reasonable job only to find out much later that the shields were actually mesh, not sheets of steel, oh well.
